The SBBA was established by a prominent Santa Barbara CPA in 1991.  Her goal was to bring local bookkeepers together for the purpose of mutual support and networking.  Its success has exceeded her wildest expectations.

Growing to over 100 members, the SBBA has become a dynamic networking group consisting primarily of independent bookkeepers located throughout the greater Santa Barbara area.  The purpose of the organization is to exchange information, increase our contacts and educate ourselves through our peers.

We encourage all our members to participate in the various committees. This will also give them an opportunity to create friendships and share ideas on a more personal level.  The committees consist of:

Please call any one of the officers with questions on these committees, or SBBA at 965-5676.

A semi-annual referral list is circulated to the membership and many accounting professionals in May and November.  This lets members know the areas of expertise of their fellow members. Although we're not an employment agency (and don't plan on being one), this can generate new opportunities.

We meet the third Tuesday of most months at 11:30 a.m. at Mulligan's Cafe in Santa Barbara (at the SB Municipal Golf Course) where we have lunch and oftentimes a speaker.  At $5 per month, prepaid annually in September (+ the cost of the meal, currently $14.00), the SBBA dues are one of the best deals in the Tri-Counties.  Thank you for your interest in the SBBA.
