About SBBA
The SBBA was established by a prominent Santa Barbara CPA in 1991. Her goal was to bring local bookkeepers together for the purpose of mutual support and networking. Its success has exceeded her wildest expectations.
Growing to over 100 members, the SBBA has become a dynamic networking group consisting primarily of independent bookkeepers located throughout the greater Santa Barbara area. The purpose of the organization is to exchange information, increase our contacts and educate ourselves through our peers.
We encourage all our members to participate in the various committees. This will also give them an opportunity to create friendships and share ideas on a more personal level. Please call any one of the officers with questions on these committees, or SBBA at 965-5676. The committees consist of:

President
Vicki St Martin , pres@sbbaonline.org- Lead monthly meetings.
- Oversee general operation of organization.
- Interact with committees to keep everything running smoothly.
- Handle job referrals.
- Liaison between our organization and the general public.
- Contribute as sees fit to newsletter and committee members.
- Organize and set up Board meetings.
- Corroborate relationship between restaurant and SBBA.
- Coordinate dates with Social/Party Committee.
- Prepare letter for CPA mailing on semi-annual basis.
- Handle special issues within the organization as they come up.
- Attend Board Meetings, and other duties as needed.
Vice President
vp@sbbaonline.org- Takes over when president is not available.
- Oversee Membership/Welcoming Committee.
- Oversee newsletter committee. Proof read and send out newsletter monthly.
- Follow up on new members with a Welcome Letter.
- Collect name tags and bring to next meeting.
- Make name tags for new members and changes for existing members as needed.
- Attend Board Meetings, and other duties as needed.
Secretary
Patty McDaniel, sec@sbbaonline.org- Take minutes at the meetings.
- Help treasurer collect payments at lunch meetings.
- Submit a brief summary of the meeting to the Newsletter Committee.
- Press Releases and public announcements to newspapers.
- Attend Board Meetings, and other duties as needed.

Patti Karr, treas@sbbaonline.org- Collects dues, lunch fee, and special event money at each monthly meeting, making sure that all lunch attendees are current on their membership dues.
- Update a report of meeting attendees and dues paid to use at the next meeting.
- Reconcile money received and make deposits by income type.
- Compile data from questionnaire/update sheet and put in the master computer database.
- Provide a quarterly Treasury Report to the Board.
- Reconcile bank account monthly.
- Pay bills, monitor P.O. Box, and distribute mail as needed.
- Act as Budget Manager to interface with other committees.
- Data merge on semi-annual basis for Roster and Referral Lists.
- Update CPA mailing list on ongoing basis with returned mail and annual basis from other sources.
- Prepare member labels monthly for Newsletter.
- Prepare CPA labels and corresponding letters for Referral List mailing on semi-annual basis.
- Update membership status as needed to make sure that the referral list is accurate, roster is correct, and that the newsletter is only going to members in good standing.
- Interface with listserver admin re new members and email changes
- Attend Board Meetings, and other duties as needed.
